I can’t remember when the idea that gods would need a costume box came to me. Probably somewhere around the time that I realized that I thought of Hell as being a giant sound stage. Regardless, it made a lot of sense, on a number of levels. It was a sort of private joke, though, and I was very gratified when a LOT of people thought it was funny. I was also surprised and delighted when I found out, during a tour of the beautiful schooner Adventuress, that THEY have a costume box on board. I wasn’t aware of that when I drew these panels, as I’d only been able to see the public areas of Adventuress previously (my husband and I finally were able to join the crew for a several day excursion), but it cemented my feeling that Adventuress is also a great inspiration for Lacrymer.
