Page Notes
Eleven years ago, almost to the day, I launched Lacrymer. The previous seven years had been a stone cold bummer. I’d lost multiple pregnancies and family members (and had more of both to come, sadly). I slowly slid into my own personal abyss, but creating Lacrymer helped pull me upright again. As it has ever since. I’d meant to do some sort of an anniversary hurrah last year, but was too busy, on March 1st, 2020, freaking the fuck out about going into quarantine in a new city with a young child to do much of anything, so I am acknowledging this birthday this year, because, well, Lacrymer has gone to 11 (for me, at least). I rely upon it for a reasonable portion of my sanity and it is a large source of joy. DIY Art Therapy FTW!
About the Author
Molly Demeter Sokolow Hayden (or Modemeter, for obvious reasons of length) grew up surrounded by her father’s comic book collection, sometimes literally. She fell in love with Will Eisner’s Spirit at an inappropriately young age and wishes she could draw like Jaime Hernandez. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, her daughter, and her cat, and sneaks down to her drawing table whenever she can.
